How we work
We offer three levels of treatment:
We use proven style guides (e.g., the Australian Government guide or the US Government's style manual), but we keep the content and the readers in mind, and keep it simple. The goal is to produce works that are easy to read, conveying your message efficiently while preserving your style.
We price using an hourly rate of AU$65. Every project is different, so editing speed can vary considerably. It depends on the quality and complexity of the original document, and on your requirements.
Additional editing services include:
If necessary, more than one editor reviews your document. Different editors bring complementary backgrounds, perspectives and perception to the task. The result is quality assurance on several levels. For example, you have two editors checking your work, and checking each other's work.
- Proofreading -- previewing and checking for errors such as 'typos' or formatting problems in a final draft (i.e., the document has already been edited) and cleaning up any remaining spelling or grammar errors
- Copy editing -- correcting spelling, punctuation, grammar, and improving sentence structure as well as accuracy and consistency of expression
- Comprehensive editing -- a stronger focus on the content, with all the tasks of copy editing, plus restructuring the text if necessary
