How we work with you -- details
We use the commenting and Track Changes features of Microsoft Word. In more complex documents we comment extensively to explain the edits, provide options for changes, and offer suggestions for improvements. All changes are recorded and reversible.
We send a clean draft. If you wish, we can send you the tracked document to review the changes. You will have the power to accept or reject each change. However, this comes with a warning:
Rejecting edits will likely result in your restoring and retaining your errors.
That mistake looked right to you when you first wrote it. But that's why you hired an editor. We welcome you to review and question the editing. It allows us to better explain the changes. If an edit alters the content and meaning of your expression, then please tell us. You know the subject best. It improves our service to you.
If you make further changes (make sure you use Track Changes) after we have sent you the edited document, we recommend you send the document to us again for a final edit or proofreading. We can discuss any more questions about changes.
If the document has more than one contributing author, consistency and style may need extra attention. We suggest you establish style and formatting rules (i.e., provide a template) with your contributors before they write. It will save you time and money.
Additional editing services include:
If necessary, more than one editor reviews your document. Different editors bring complementary backgrounds, perspectives and perception to the task. The result is quality assurance on several levels. For example, you have two editors checking your work, and checking each other's work.
